One-on-one appointment:
Hi, I’m Kay—known to many as Kay the Dog Boss (previously known as Kay the Dog Whisperer). I’m a certified dog trainer and behavior specialist through the prestigious Victoria Stilwell Academy, on top of years of experience handling the untouchables through grooming. I specialize in something most professionals avoid: nail trims for dogs with fear, aggression, or trauma , without sedating !
This one-on-one setup helps anxious or reactive dogs feel safe — and gives me the space I need to read their sensory channels. Every dog communicates differently through body language, energy, and behavior. By tuning into their individual stress signals and comfort zones, I can choose the right approach from the hundreds I’ve used.
Whether a dog needs calm stillness, rhythmic touch, or slow desensitization, I’ll know — because I don’t just groom, I listen without judgement.
It’s not one method fits all. It’s the right method will fit your dog.
I've helped hundreds of dogs from far and wide learn to trust again—and earned recognition while doing it, including:
🏆 Best Dog Trainer (Faces Magazine, 2022)
🏆 Best Pet Groomer (Faces Magazine, 2022)
🏆 Canadian Choice : Best Pet Groomer (2024, 2025)
🏆 CBRB Best Business Award (2024, 2025)
You’re not the only one who’s been told ‘it can’t be done.’ My reviews are full of dogs who proved otherwise.
A basic Nail trim, cutting your pet's nails as short as they can go. Specializing with any behavior.
An additional Nail trim during your appointment (additional animal within the same appointment)
An addition to nail trims. Hardwood floor friendly, leaving their nails smooth and rounded.
Clearing hair around their eyes (preventing eye crust build up) and beard trimming (cleaning up the beard/ nose area).
If you notice your dog scooting their bum (this is a sign that their glands might be full), and can prevent uncomfortable pain /impaction. For dogs who cannot release their glands on their own.
Removing the hair under/ in-between the pads. Preventing slipping, dirt dragged into home, and matting.
Trimming the tail, preventing hair being dragged, and leaving a clean look.
Some dogs are prone to tight little matts that form right behind the ear.
Cleaning any dirt build up on the inside of the ear.
A clean trim/shave preventing mess around sanitary areas.
Your choice of all natural, pet safe deodorizer scents, leaving your dog smelling like they just left the spa head to toe.
